2007 Summer Crafter's Camps for 8- to 12-year-olds

We are offering these week-long "camps" to young crafters so they'll never have to say "Mo-o-o-o-om, I'm bo-o-o-o-ored!" Geared toward 8- to 12-year-olds, the knitting classes are two levels: absolute beginner and beyond beginner (for those already comfortable with the knit stitch). The weaving class is for those with no previous experience in weaving. We hope that you'll find one of these classes suits your crafty young person!

Knitting with Gigi
Beginners, June 25 - 29, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Take your first knitting adventure with a girl who's cool, hip, and loves to knit - Gigi! The new book, Knitting with Gigi, has fun poems, colorful illustrations and easy projects. We'll get going on our knitting adventure with a funky hat, a cool bag, or a pretty scarf.
$40 covers the class, book and all materials.

Knitted Babes and Dudes
Beyond beginners, June 25 - 29, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Taking our cues from the wonderful book Knitted Babes, we will knit a doll and begin on her (or his) wardrobe. Your doll can be a skateboarder, a surfer dude or babe, a cowboy/cowgirl, a ballerina, a fashionista, a funky, psychedelic 60's guy or chick, or all of the above!!! We'll knit a bathing suit, flip flops, even a rubber ducky inner tube. This class will be too much fun. All crafty guys and gals are welcome!
$45 covers the class, book and all materials.

Weave Your Dream
Beginning tapestry weaving, July 9 - 13, 10:00 - 12:00.
A super easy and fun weaving technique, tapestry weaving is great for beginners and requires a minimal amount of equipment. We will weave a small piece on a peg loom, learning basic tapestry weaving techniques and the how-to of designing our own pictures, allowing us to truly "weave our dreams!"
